Activity 15: Identifying Parts of a Lesson Plan
Ask Mentees what the 6 steps of a lesson plan are.
Write the steps as they say them and ask the purpose of each: warm-up/engage, presentation, practice, application, wrap-up/assessment, follow-up
Give Mentees Handout: Identifying Parts of a Lesson Plan.
Mentees read the lesson plan and fill in the missing steps.
Review the answers to make sure everyone got the steps correct. Ask CCQs. For example:
How is the lesson plan scaffolded?
How is the warm-up engaging the students?
How does the application activity show that students met the lesson objective?
