CUTTING EDGE-SCIENCE
2022 Shawnee, USA October sanitary facilities, forensic medicine facilities, medical laboratories, and private healthcare facilities [4]. Medical waste (epidemiologically hazardous) is a source of harmful chemical, biological, chemical and biological agents and elements that can penetrate into the environment. It contains pathogenic organisms and worm eggs, and is contaminated with toxic and radioactive substances. In the 60s, the scientists from a number of countries proved that medical waste is highly epidemiologically hazardous for the population. Thereupon, the classification of medical waste and its disposal by incineration came into practice [1]. In contemporary world, there are principal methods to treat medical waste, including incineration, pressurized water steam sterilization, chemical disinfection, use of microwaves, ionizing, radioactive and infrared radiation [3]. After using any of these methods, decontaminated medical waste can be disposed with household waste in a landfill, and if they are liquid, they can be discharged into a common drain. The whole civilized world conducts special tests to ensure proper treatment [2]. According to SanPiN of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 0317-15, medical waste is ranged into the following groups (see table). Table №1 Classification of waste of HCF No. Hazard class Waste morphological composition 1. Class A - non- hazardous non-hazardous waste is a waste, which does not provide a contact with biological fluids of patients, infectious patients; non-toxic waste is a food waste from all department of HCF, except for infectious, pathobiological one; furniture, inventory and faulty diagnostic equipment that do not contain toxic elements 2. Class B - hazardous (Risk-generating) hazardous (risk-generating) waste is a prospectively infectious waste; organic surgical waste; waste from infectious departments; waste from microbiological laboratories working with ISBN 978-1-64945-234-4 DOI https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.7509018 30 Download 0.9 Mb.
