Pasture Development Association: No, we do not have any concerns. However, some people
went to Peshku district and Gijduvan district and stated that 23,000 ha and 22,000 ha are required
for the Project respectively. And the herders were asked to move to another place.
ACWA Power: We were in attendance in the meeting with local municipalities in April and we did
not have such a discussion. Please clarify.
Juru Energy: On the issue above, the Karakul Development was referring to the E&S Team that
has conducted consultations with herders using the site. Juru Energy clarified that the E&S Team
had distributed Brochures with Project information including the grievance mechanism. The site
visits were part of the baseline surveys being undertaken for the ESIA. They also clarified that any
meetings held have been in coordination with the local municipalities as per the Uzbek
requirements.
Pasture Development Association: There are departments within the local municipalities working
on matters relating to Karakul farming. These dept should participate in these meetings in future
so that we can avoid misinterpretations and misunderstandings.
Committee for the Development of Sericulture and Wool Industry: Does ACWA Power know the
exact size of the land which will be necessary for each Project?
ACWA Power: At the moment we have only general layout of the Project and the layout of the
WTGs is being designed. The exact size of the land will be determined thereafter. We will need
only certain size of land for wind turbines and other Project facilities. After finalising the layout, we
will proceed to sign the land lease agreement where the exact size of land will be indicated.
Committee for the Development of Sericulture and Wool Industry: Please share with us the
location of wind turbines and other facilities to be built once ready. We will review the use of land
that is required. Then we can proceed to issue the lease agreement. When do you plan to start
the construction works?
