Research-informed decision making (TESOL Standard 5)

Lower points may be assessed for lack of references to course readings, completely irrelevant references, and/or plagiarized references

Sources are referenced in the reflection, but they may not be relevant, they may rely too heavily on unvetted internet sources, or they may specifically address the rationale behind lesson plan development decisions

Justifications include references to at least three different course readings; not all references clearly support lesson plan decisions, but they do demonstrate reflection

Justifications are supported by multiple references to course materials; the selected research, articles, and chapters are all relevant and clearly demonstrate ways to provide research-informed instruction for a particular set of target learners
