3. Active Learning 
CLIL technology promotes active learning, which helps students develop their 
communicative competence. Students are engaged in activities that require them to 
use English to communicate with others. These activities include group discussions, 
debates, and presentations. Active learning helps students develop their linguistic 
competence, sociolinguistic competence, discourse competence, and strategic 
competence [2]. 
4. Cultural Awareness 
CLIL technology promotes cultural awareness, which is an important 
component of communicative competence. Students learn about different cultures 
and how to communicate effectively with people from different backgrounds. This 
exposure helps students develop their sociolinguistic competence and strategic 
competence. 
CLIL technology is an effective approach for developing communicative 
competence in teaching English. It provides an opportunity for students to use 
English in a meaningful context, integrates language and content, promotes active 
learning, and promotes cultural awareness [3]. By using CLIL technology, teachers 
can help their students develop the four components of communicative competence: 
linguistic competence, sociolinguistic competence, discourse competence, and 
strategic competence.
