Abstract: This paper investigates the analysis of pun which is one of the 
categories of wordplay and its manifestation in one-liner jokes in the English literature. 
The data of this research are all of one-liner jokes containing puns which were collected 
from different researches and online sources. Pun as a figure of speech which is 
specialized to use a word or phrase to get two meanings: literal meaning and 
connotation meaning in order to achieve humorous or sarcastic sense.
