Indirect questions in teaching grammar

Think consider; be of the opinion. Consider - to think, hold the opinion. Suppose - to hold as an opinion.
Believe be of the opinion, consider .
As can be seen from the definitions, the word opinion is obligatory in the interpretation of the listed verbs, so we will consider it as an identifier of this group.
Verbs fancy , imagine , dream - according to their semantic component
are included both in the group of verbs of suggestion and in the group of verbs of imagination. However, since for these verbs, nevertheless, the primary meaning (according to the analysis of these definitions in explanatory dictionaries) is to form a picture in the mind , then we attribute these predicates to the group of imagination verbs.
Imagine to form a mental image Fancy - to form a picture of; imagine dream - imagine
An analysis of dictionary definitions shows that the word - identifier for this group of verbs is the word image , indicating the seme of perception, however, the presence in the interpretation of such words as mental and mind indicates the mental nature of these verbs. Accordingly, we can attribute them both to the verb of mental activity, and to the group of verbs of positing.
Consider dictionary definitions, where these verbs are interpreted through positing verbs.
Imagine- to think that something is probably true, to form a picture of something or someone in your mind.”
Fancy to believe without being certain; think. Dream - to consider as a possibility.
So, the considered verbs of the presented lexical-semantic group of knowledge, positing with the nuclear seme opinion and verbs - imaginations with the nuclear seme image (in mind) can be attributed to modus predicates of the mental plan (according to Arutyunova) of the mental modus frame (according to Zolotova).
Verbs that introduce indirect speech with the meaning of supposition
This LSG includes the verbs suppose , assume , presume , expect with the nuclear common seme think, guess.
Suppose to believe that something is probably true, based on your experience ,your knowledge, and any other information that you have.
Assume to believe that something is true, even though you have no proof Presume - to think something is true because it is likely, although you cannot be certain
Expect to think that something will happen.
If an assumption is conveyed that borders on the certainty that the events discussed will come true, the verb e x pect is introduced .
The verbs of the assumption will be related to the modes of the mental plane (modes of the assumption) of the mental modus frame.
Verbs for requesting information
The verbs for requesting information - ask and wonderintroducing indirect speech are combined with the common meaning to think about something because you want to know more facts or details about it .
Indirect speech, introduced by these verbs with the meaning ask , is a request for information in order to find out something in the course of a conversation. The verb wonder provides for highlighting the polite form of the request.
Verbs of the answer to the previous question
In this case, indirect speech is introduced by such verbs as:
Answer reply to question, do sth as a reaction Reply - to say, write, or do something as an answer Tell - to give information to someone
Say to express something using words; to think something or have a particular opinion
Respond to react to something by taking a particular course of action; to reply especially in writing.
As a marker of indirect speech with a detailed answer and possible argumentation, the verb tell is most often introduced .
We refer this group of verbs to the speech modus frame.
