Introduction


The relevance: Interest in the communicative and functional side of the language orients modern studies of the grammar of the text and the syntactic structure of the language to the search for solutions in an interdisciplinary field that combines literary criticism and linguistics.
The phenomenon of direct and indirect speech, which previously constituted one of the traditional topics of the syntactic description of the language, can now be considered as a model of the linguistic vision of the world of an individual writer, presented in the form of a communicative situation. Ways of speech transmission, primary and secondary representation of one's own and another's word are directly related to the communicative aspects of the language. A literary text from this point of view turns out to be a speech work in which the narrator, who does not coincide with the author, is the subject of perception, consciousness and speech. In this case, someone else's speech can be transmitted in the form of direct, indirect and improperly direct speech, each of which has its own syntactic expression and plays a certain role in the structure of the text and the idiolect of an individual artist of the word.
This final qualification work is devoted to the study of the functional aspects of the design of someone else's and internal speech in a literary text. The semantic interpretation of an utterance in the form of indirect speech involves referring to such modes of communication as external and internal speech, as speech spoken aloud, and speech oriented to the thoughts of the character. Indirect speech, according to the justified opinion of A.M. Lomov [Lomov 2012, p. 34], has been examined so completely that there are almost no unexplored problems in the conceptual space around it. However, such a way of transmitting someone else's speech, in which the author's retelling is allowed, smooths out the features of the speaker's speech manner by not only changing the forms of the face (first and third person), but also by skipping expressive particles, interjections, colloquial words and expressions, appeals, as well as the modal meanings of the speaker, his assessments. The words of the author and someone else's message are not contrasted in indirect speech to the extent that they are in direct speech, they are merged together and together form a complex sentence with an explanatory clause. The retold message is colored by the subjective modality of the speaker's speech, his point of view, in his communicative perspective.
