7.1.What is self-asessment?Self-assessment is a process through which you become aware of your strengths and weaknesses, skills and abilities, interests, values, goals, and aspirations. For our purposes, self- assessment is aimed at preparing you to feel comfortable in interview situations where the topic is YOU.Self-assessment provides students with an opportunity to self-evaluate, or make judgments about their learning process and products of learning.Self assessment makes you sure and confident about your capabilities
7.2.What is personalized learning?Kids learn in different ways and at different paces. Personalized learning is a teaching model based on that premise. Each student gets a “learning plan” based on how they learn, what they know, and what their skills and interests are.Personalized learning is not a replacement for . It’s an approach to general education that can work with an Individualized Education Program(IEP).In a personalized learning approach,the learner’s personal experience,knowledge,and habits are connected with learning methods.
7.3What is CREAM strategy?CREAM is a learning strategy. It is a group of strategies that makes you a successful learner.The letter “C” stands for the word Creativity. Creativity is an intellectual inventiveness. A creative person has confidence to use individual style in his work.The letter “R” stands for Reflective. A reflective person analyzes and evaluates his own performance and draw lessons from it.The letter “E” refers to the word effectiveness. An effective person organizes his space, time and priorities. The letter “A” stands for activeness. An active learner strategy is when you involve yourself personally in work, and then strives to make it happen.The letter “M” stands for motivated. A motivated learning strategy is when you enjoy learning.
8.1.What is learning style and preferences?A learning style is the way that different students learn. A style of learning refers to an individual’s preferred way to absorb, process, comprehend and retain information. The four key learning styles are: visual, auditory, tactile and kinaesthetic. Visual learners prefer to use pictures, graphs and images to organize and communicate their thoughts and learn best from using flash cards. Auditory learners prefer to listen, discuss, memorize and debate in class. They learn best from audiobooks rather than print ones. Tactile learners learn best by touch and movement—they find opportunities to take part in demonstrations, writing or building models. Kinesthetic learners prefer to use their whole body in the learning process—they use gestures to communicate ideas and learn best in a hands-on environment.As individuals we all have various preferred ways of doing things.By understanding our particular preferences,we as learners can use these preferences to understand our learning strengts and limitations.
8.2.What is threshold?The word threshold can mean the level at which something is affected by a particular rule or belongs in a particular class, or the level of money earned or income above which individuals or businesses have to pay tax, or must pay a different rate of tax.It can also be the area at the bottom of a doorway or door frame that we need to cross in order to enter or leave a room or a house, as in “The groom carried the bride over the threshold.”
