Features of the translation of a scientific text
Medical texts - scientific articles, monographs, technical descriptions, being scientific texts, characterized by a cognitive type of information. Language Tools cognitive information processing is in strict conventional framework. From point view of the vocabulary the main feature of a scientific text is the limit saturation with special terminology characteristic of this branch of knowledge. Well-known linguistic means providing objective presentation of cognitive information are lexical abbreviations (general language and terminology), passive collateral form, impersonal and indefinitely personal sentences, impersonal semantics of the subject, etc., as well as graphic, syntactic and auxiliary sign systems (various conventions, formulas, diagrams, drawings, etc.) The scientific style is characterized by emotional and subjective evaluative neutrality, non-categorical statements, generalization of presentation, compositional clarity, unambiguity, clarity and accuracy of presentation. Focus is done on the logical side of what is stated. At the same time, the scientific text still includes a certain number of phraseological units more or less neutral in color combinations. With regard to the syntactic structure of English texts of scientific content distinguished by their structural complexity. The peculiarity of the book style manifested in mainly models that do not cause conversational speech. Of the grammatical constructions in English, these are, for example, participles, infinitive and gerundial turns, as well as some other constructions characteristic for a style that sometimes makes it difficult to understand and translate the text. The written character of a scientific text gives rise to features such as high percentage of subordinate clauses, homogeneous members, common definitions. When translating text from English into Uzbek, you need to consider the features structures, both English and Uzbek. Wrong is the desire to give in Uzbek translation mirror image of an English phrase. Some stylistic-grammatical constructions foreign to the Uzbek language: The English text is dominated by personal forms of the verb, while the Uzbek scientific style is more characteristic of impersonal or indefinitely personal turns. In English descriptive texts often use the future tense for expressions of ordinary action. Guided by context, translate such sentences are not in the future, but in the present tense, sometimes with a modal connotation. In English scientific texts passive turns are especially frequent, whereas in Uzbek, the passive voice is used much less frequently. When translating, therefore, we often must resort to replacing passive structures with other means of expression more characteristic of the Russian language. The authors of the English scientific literature make extensive use of various abbreviations, which are completely uncommon in Uzbek. Such translation reductions should decipher and be given a complete designation. Some words or phrases in the English text contain something foreign to our language form. When translating, they must be replaced by analogues (cf. dozen (dozen) - ten). When performing the tasks facing the translator - correctly understand the content the text to be translated and to accurately convey this content by means of the target language, are necessary not only a specific vocabulary (including special terminology), knowledge grammar (in our case - English), but also knowledge of the translation technique, skill use the dictionary effectively.
