MAHDUMSULTON BEGIM (Eng. Makhdum Sultan Begim) – It is a name of a royal wife. She was younger wife of Umarshaikh Mirza. She was also called as “Qaraguz begim (Black eyed begim)” and she was “was much loved” [“B”, on folio 12 b]. She gave a birth of her daughter Ruqiya Sultan Begim after her husband, Umarshaikh Mirza’s death.

“MAHZANUL-ASROR” –It is the title of the first dastan (epic) in the book “Hamsa” by Nizami Ganjavi. The dastan (epic) was written in 1179 and devoted to Fakhriddin Bakhram-shakh, ruler of Arzinjan province. It was an educational-moral theme, and considered as allegory to dastan.“Hadiqa” by Sanai. The dastan was imitated by dastans: “Gulshanul-asror” by Haidar Harazmi, “Hairatul-abror” by Alisher Navai, “Maqsadul-atvor” by Padshakh-khuja. The dastan was mentioned by Musavvidi auraq as “Mulla Baqai had much of talent and wrote a Mathnavi for king Babur in the rhythm of “Mahanul-asror” [“B”, on folio 392 b].

MAHLUF Majida (or Mojida Saloh Mahluf) Eng. Majida Saleh Makhlouf) – She was an Arabian scientist, Turkologist. She was born in 1953 in Cairo. She graduated from the faculty of Turkic language and literature of the University, Ain- Shams and history of the Ottomans” in 1983. She worked as teacher, head of department and Ain- Shams in Cairo in 1973. She defended doctoral dissertation on the theme “The Turkish language professor (since 2009) in the University of Ain-Shams. She researched on the topics “Literary and humanistic features in Babur’s personality”, “Babur in the culture of Arabian people”, “Babur’s role in the history of India” “The importance of “Babur-nama” in the development of world civilization”. She translated Baburnama into the Arabic language and published it with a wider explanation note (Boburshoh, Zahirud-din Muhammad. Tarihi Boburshoh. Vaqoyi Farg’ona-Kobul-Hindiston. Al-Qohira, “Dorul-ofoqil-arabiyya”, 2013). She participated in number of international conferences such as “History of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur and his role in history of world culture” (2008, Andijan), “The place of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur in world culture” (2013, Tashkent), “The role and importance of Middle Age Scholars of East in development of world civilization” (2014, Samarkand). She was awarded with award of Babur International Fund for her book “Literary mastery and humanistic ideas of Baburshah” in 2008.

MAXFIY (Eng. Mahfi) – literary pen name of historic poet. It means “secret, hidden”. The pen name was used by several queens of Baburid’s kin such as Salima Sultan Begim, Nurjahon Begim and Zebunniso Begim.
