MARG’UBQUL (Eng. Marghibqul) – He was one of the emirs, who ruled India. He was the king of Makhavin. After the battle of Panipat most of emirs under the reign of Ibrahim Ludi, escaped and hided in their fortress intending the independence. Babur called the name of Marghibqul among such kind of emirs in Baburname [“B”, on folio.294].

MASAL - It is a literary term for proverb, witty words. “There is a proverb in Turkic people “Inonmag’il do‘tung’a, somon tiqar po‘tung’a” [“B”, on folio.76 ].

MASJIDI JAVZO (Eng. Jauza Masjid (Twin Mosque)) – It is a name of the mosque built in Aush. Babur described the mosque in all its gratitude joyfully. “On the skirt of the Bara-koh is a mosque called the Jauza Masjid (Twin Mosque) situated between the town and the mountain.” (S.Beveridge,1922).

MASJIDI JOME’ (Eng.Masjidi Jame) – It is a name of the mosque built in Herat about the XIII-XIVth centuries. It admired people with its great size. It consisted of 408 domes, 130 arches, 444 stairs and six gates with brilliant pieces of each art. When Babur travelled to Herat, he observed this miraculous sample of architecture. MASJIDI LAQLAQA (Eng. Masjid-i-laqlaqa) – It is a name of the ancient mosque in Samarkand. “Inside the fortress, there is an old building known as the Masjid-i-laqlaqa (Mosque of the Echo). If anyone stamps on the ground under the middle of the dome of this mosque, the sound like “laq-laq” echoes back from the whole dome; it is a curious matter of which no one knows the secret” [“B”, on folio.47].

MASJIDI MUQATTA’ (Eng. Masjid-i-muqatta) – It is a name of the mosque built by Ulughbek in Samarkand. Babur wrote that the walls and ceiling of the mosque were decorated with wooden pieces with Islamic and Chinese ornaments. These wooden pieces were laid in separate order the mosque was called as “Masjid-i-muqatta’” [“B”, on folio. 46; (see also Samt)].
