MURCH (or Qora murch) Eng. Piper nigrum) – It is a kind of plant from the family of (Piperaeae) a convolvulus like plant. Fruits are round with a stone. Its’ native land is India but can grow in all tropical countries. Baur used piper nigrum as healer when he got injured from “obila”. “I used medicine from “muruch” It was a bit hot, I got mumps in all body” [“B”, on folio 364 a; 368 b].

Murg’I Janjal( or To’qay qushi), Eng. …. ) – It is one of the birds inhabit India. There was outlined the place of inhabitance, specific features and etimology of the name in Baburname “Another Hindustan bird resembles the crow (T. _qarcha_, _C. splendens_) and the magpie (Ar. _'aqqa_). In the Lamghanat people call it the jungle-bird (P. _murgh-i-jangal_).[1814] Its head and breast are black; its wings and tail reddish; its eye quite red. Having a feeble flight, it does not come out of the jungle, whence its name” [“B”, on folio 104 a].

MURG’OB (Eng. Murghab) – Name of the river in Khurasan. It takes its beginning from the western sleeps of the chains Hindikush and vanishes in the sand of the Qaraqum desert going through Badghis. Its name was mentioned in several places, while depicting some historic events in Baburname For instance, Sultan Husain came up the river intending to march over Shaibani-Khan in 1503, and sent a letter to Babur asking him to come to territories of Kahmard and Ajar with his army.
