THE CONCEPT OF SOMATISM, METAPHORS IN THE EXPRESSION OF SOMATISMS 
Abstract 
At the current stage of society's development, linguistics is evolving not only as a body of knowledge about communication and 
the outside world, but also as a field of study thought to be a repository of memory, reflecting the material, social, and spiritual 
levels and accomplishments that are thought to be a sign of a country's culture. Considering that language is an instrument that 
reflects national mentality. In recent years, it has become clear that human beings and characteristics of them are the main focus 
of research in many disciplines of science. In this article, opinions and reflections on the concept of somatism, metaphors in the 
expression of somatisms are kept. 
Key words: Linguistics, metaphor, the concept of somatism, paradigm, lexicology, expression, language tool, phraseological 
units.
