components of conceptology will be described further - a
picture of the world and, in particular, the conceptual picture
of the world.
Kubryakova defines cognitive linguistics as “a
linguistic direction that focuses on language as a general
cognitive mechanism, as a cognitive tool - a system of signs
that play a role in the representation (coding) and
transformation of information” [12].
There is another approach. Scientists V.I. Karasik and
I.A. Sternin consider cognitive linguistics to be an
independent field of modern linguistic science, which emerged
from cognitive science. “At the same time, the difference
between cognitive linguistics and other cognitive sciences lies
precisely in its material - it explores consciousness on the
material of language (other cognitive sciences explore
consciousness on their own material), as well as in its methods
- it explores concepts and cognitive processes, draws
conclusions about types and the content of concepts in the
human mind…” [7].
The goal of cognitive linguistics according to V.A.
Maslova - "to understand how the processes of perception,
categorization, classification and understanding of the world
are carried out, how knowledge is accumulated, what systems
provide various types of activities with information" [12].
Modern cognitive linguistics is aimed at modeling the
picture of the world and the structure of the linguistic
consciousness of a person who knows and feels.
It is language, according to Maslova, that provides
natural access to consciousness and thought processes, not
only because many results of mental activity turn out to be
verbalized, but because “we know about the structures of
consciousness only thanks to the language that allows us to
communicate about these structures and describe them in any
natural language” [3].
The mechanism of artistic and figurative use of a word
and a term in artistic speech does not have a fundamental
difference. Differentiation lies in the traditional character of
the expressed image of the word and the individuality of the
expressed image of the term. But if in the scientific style
terminological vocabulary is the main element and performs
only a nominative function, then in artistic speech the term is
used in a nominative-descriptive and artistic-figurative
function - in order to recreate the production coloring, labor
activity of the characters, and create the speech characteristics
of the characters. In the latter case, it loses the features
inherent in special vocabulary, and acquires all the features
characteristic of commonly used words. “Terminological
vocabulary,
by
definition,
is
decoded
correctly,
unambiguously and accurately, but only in texts of a scientific
functional style. A special text creates a so-called "terminal
field", which unambiguously semantizes the terminological
vocabulary and acts as a guarantor of consistency and
accuracy. Getting into the text of another functional style, the
term can despecialize, losing signs of systemicity, and the
degree and direction of despecialization depend on the type of
text that accepts terminological vocabulary” [1]. The study of
stylistic functioning, the study of the expressive stylistic
function outside the scientific text allowed S.V. Lobanov to
discover the evaluative potential of a scientific term in literary
discourse [2] and to determine that the use of terminological
vocabulary in an evaluative function in a literary text goes
beyond marking objects only by the opposition “positive /
negative”. “The stylistic functioning of the terminological
vocabulary marks the objects of evaluation, the subject of
speech, the social and etiquette side and the relationship of the
