participants in the communicative situation, carries out the
attitude of the speaker to the objects and participants in the
situation, that is, evaluates the various components of the
pragmatic situation as true or false, serious or comical, causing
approval or censure, contempt or respect, curiosity or
boredom, joy or fear. The use of terminological vocabulary in
the stylistic function of evaluation, as a rule, is associated with
the implementation of the characterological function;
terminological vocabulary either serves as a marker of the
professional language of the subject of speech, or forms of
speech behavior common to the subject, associated with his
social status or education. The specific function of the
evaluative use of terminological vocabulary in the creation of
a rating scale ... "[3].
Scientists note that in a work of art, where the
communicative function of the language is complicated by the
artistic and visual function, special explanations of terms are
extremely undesirable, as they contribute to the destruction of
the artistic fabric of the narrative. In the general literary
language, in particular in the language of fiction, the lexico-
phraseological connections of the term expand and deepen,
emotionally expressive coloring is superimposed on the
conceptual content of the terms, as a result of which the
phenomenon of partial or complete determinology arises, new
meanings develop and new meanings appear. At the same
time, the term loses its main features: consistency,
unambiguity,
emotionally
expressive
neutrality.
This
phenomenon is typical for terms that denote objects and
phenomena relevant to native speakers. Along with such
“losses”, the terms in a literary text also have “acquisitions”:
in this case, the terms can perform not only their main
nominative function, but also serve as a means of creating
imagery, evaluativeness, creating portrait and speech
characteristics. The concept in literature most often refers to
the individual consciousness of the author of the work,
contains his individual perception of things and phenomena of
the surrounding world. One of the most authoritative linguists
of our time, Yu.S. Stepanov, in a broad sense, refers the notion
of concept, along with culture, to two main meta-concepts. He
claims that “the concept is like a clot of culture in the mind of
a person; that in the form of which culture enters the mental
world of man. And, on the other hand, the concept is
something through which a person - an ordinary, ordinary
person, not a "creator of cultural values" - enters culture
himself, and in some cases influences it" [1].
When studying concepts, scientists are faced with
certain difficulties, in particular, with the problem of the
semantic complication of a literary word. The Soviet literary
critic M.M. Girshman gives the following definition of the
literary language: “this is the maximum manifestation of the
national language, covering all its implementations in terms of
the creative potential contained in them. The artistic word
does not lose its significance, regardless of whether it is used
in its literal sense or contains several semantic layers. Lexical
units are directly influenced by the system of the writer's
artistic thinking, and the concepts behind them are fragments
of a holistic individual artistic picture of the world" [2: 65].
The system of information about the world is a
conceptual system, i.e. a system of certain concepts, a person's
ideas about the world - a system constructed by a person as a
member of a certain cognitive and cultural community. In the
construction of such systems, natural language plays an
essential, though not exclusive, role. The correlation of
language and the surrounding reality, carried out by the
conceptual system, is, in fact, the coding of certain fragments
of the conceptual system by linguistic means. At the same
time, “this trend extends to the field of discourse” [3: 202].
“The attachment of language expressions as a sign system,
code to certain fragments of the conceptual system allows you
to operate with the information contained in it, which leads to
the construction and adaptation of such information by the
system that cannot be constructed without a language and
which makes it possible to go beyond the direct experience of
