work on  M o n d a y morning. An intelligent spiritual practice is a holistic 
one. It integrates with all parts of your life, including your career, your 
finances, your health, and your relationships. 
According to the principles of truth, love, and power, the highest 
level of spiritual attainment  w o u l d be perfect alignment with those 
principles,  w h i c h implies perfect intelligence. The ultimate ideal of any 
sound spiritual path is to be infinitely truthful, infinitely loving, and 
infinitely powerful. By extension, this also requires infinite oneness, 
infinite authority, and infinite courage. The ultimate spiritual pursuit is 
to strive to live congruently with all of these. 
Since the principles of truth, love, and power are universal, a 
proper spiritual practice must be universal as well. This means that 
even  w h e n you're doing your taxes, your spiritual beliefs must be ap-
plicable to the task at hand. If  y o u face any situation in life  w h e r e your 
views can't be applied, then they aren't universal,  w h i c h means they 
can't be aligned with truth, love, and power. Even if  y o u think about 
something as  m u n d a n e as  m o w i n g your lawn,  y o u can use the values 
of truth, love, and power to help guide  y o u . Any other universal spiri-
tual principles must satisfy the same criteria.

As  y o u use the  p o w e r of conscious choice to bring your life into 
greater alignment with truth, love, and power, the long-term result 
is spiritual wisdom and peace. Your life reaches a new level of clarity 
w h e r e all the parts begin working harmoniously together. 
O u r collective spiritual development is rooted in our  c o m m o n in-
terest in truth, love, and power. These are our guides through all the 
challenges of  h u m a n life. If it  w e r e  s o m e h o w possible for everyone on 
earth to  c o m e together and agree on a single spiritual philosophy, it 
w o u l d be one that incorporates the universal principles of truth, love, 
and power. These are the ideals that guide us not only as  h u m a n be-
ings, but also as spiritual beings.

Personal development for smart people is the approach that shifts 
y o u into greater alignment with the core principles of truth, love, and 
power (and by extension, the secondary principles as well).  W h e n 
your thoughts and actions are truthful, loving, and strong,  y o u ' r e liv-
ing consciously and intelligently. This is the very best  y o u can possibly 
do as a  h u m a n being. 
Despite being very motivated and driven to share the ideas in this 
book with  y o u , this is also the book I most needed to read.  W h e n I fol-
low the seven principles from Part I, my life just works. I stay focused 
on creative self-expression, I serve others willingly and effectively, I 
resonate with  a b u n d a n c e , and I'm very happy and fulfilled.  W h e n -
ever I stray from this path and begin to violate these principles, life 
becomes a struggle. I make poor decisions, I get overwhelmed by 
problems and obstacles, I drop into survival  m o d e , and I feel discon-
nected and stressed. 
If I could summarize the core message of this book, it is simply this: 
Seek truth with open eyes. Courageously accept your discov-
eries and their consequences. Rid your life of falsehood, denial, 
and fear of what is. Make truth your ally, not your enemy. This 
isn't easy, but it is correct. 
Share your love openly. Connect with yourself and others by 
tuning in to the connection that already exists. The risk of re-
jection is overshadowed by the rewards of loving connections. 
Whenever you feel disconnected, reach out and connect with an-
other human being. Remember that you're always loved.
