Research exploring the effects of multimedia-based instructional technologies on student achievement could have a positive impact on the decision of educators to incorporate interactive whiteboards into classroom instruction. Educators will continually evaluate, analyze and examine new and improved educational approaches to enhance mathematics education for all students, which are necessary for improving education (Bonner, 2009). Educational leaders play a critical role in improving schools and attaining students (Chamberlin & Plucker, 2008), which has a significant impact on teachers and students, teaching and learning, and academic performance (Masumoto & Brown-Welty, 2009). Multimedia has the ability to mediate learning through visual representations (Goodwin, 2008), and includes text integration with pictures, video, sound, animation, and simulations (Jereb & Smitek, 2006). Technology, such as multimedia instruction, provides instant feedback to students, supports multiple learning styles, and enhances traditional methods and experiences of learning (Wang, 2010). Multimedia-based instructional technology supports the learning of students when information is available in both the combination of visual and verbal codes (Wiebe & Annetta 2008).
