dream, but the legendary inventor decided to make it a reality. His drawings with
various schemes for the mahlet device have survived to this day. True, his invention
was never realized, but the first step was taken.
Faster, higher, stronger!
It has long been known that birds, fish, and insects are very sensitive and
react to weather changes without fail. Low flight of swallows means thunder.
Fishermen learn from the accumulation of jellyfish near the shore that they can go
fishing, the sea will be calm. Animals are naturally endowed with unique
hypersensitive "devices". The task of bionics is not only to find these mechanisms,
but also to understand their behavior and recreate it in electronic circuits, devices
and structures.

The study of the hydrodynamic properties of the structure of whales and
dolphins helped to create a special coating for the underwater part of the ships
which provides an increase in speed by 20-25% with the same engine power. This
skin is called laminflo and does not absorb moisture like dolphin skin, and has an
elastic-elastic structure that eliminates turbulent eddies and provides sliding with
minimal resistance. The same example can be cited from the history of aviation. For
a long time, the problem of high-speed aviation was flutter - the sudden and violent
vibrations of the wings that occur at a certain speed. Due to these vibrations, the
plane disintegrated in the air within seconds. After many accidents, the designers
found a way out - the wings began to be made with thickening at the end. After
some time, similar thickenings were found on the tips of dragonfly wings. In
biology, these thickenings are called pterostigmas. Based on the study of the flight
of birds and insects, the movement of jumping animals, the structure of joints, new
