USING PICTURES
Pictures are one of the best tool for teaching A1level learners in the classes. Teacher to increase students’ memory uses picture and it is one of approach to draw students’ attention in learning language. According to the previous expert opinions, the researcher can conclude that pictures have educational media functions, such as improving students' motivation and providing stimuli that may improve students' memory and attention. A photograph can be categorized as a visual aid, and it is also a substance that is readily available.
Pictures can be found all over the place. They can be doodled on the chalkboard, printed on chart paper, or even cut-outs (Nagaraj, 1996). Learners can be shown people, places, and things from areas outside of their own experiences through pictures. Images from the past or the future can also be depicted in pictures. We will agree with this remark if we recognize that every time we look at photographs, we must have something to say about them.
According to Brown (2007), photos give users the impression that they are interacting with the real world. There are probably millions of people all around the world who have never seen an ocean except in photographs. The image could be used to clarify their perceptions of the water.
The Advantages of Using Pictures
Pictures are one type of media that can help the teacher in capturing the students' attention and improve their motivation. If students are motivated, they will take an active role in the teaching-learning process and earn substantial money.
According to Gerlach and Ely (1980), the pictures have the following advantages:

  1. Images are both costly and frequently available;

  2. They provide common experiences for an entire group;

  3. The visual detail makes it possible to study subjects which would otherwise be impossible;

  4. Pictures can help to prevent and correct misconceptions;

  5. Pictures offers stimulus to further study, reading and research. Visual evidence is a powerful tool;

  6. They help to focus attention and to develop critical judgment;

  7. They are easily manipulated.

According to the description above, pictures play a significant function and provide benefits in the teaching-learning process by encouraging students to participate more actively in the teaching-learning process, particularly vocabulary, so that the teaching-learning process can be completed.
Look for pictures that are kid-friendly and high-interest to build connections with the terms while arranging your vocabulary lessons. Youngsters enjoy seeing photographs of wild animals and other children their age, whether the images are genuine or drawn. To engage kids' memory muscles, tie a story to the image. Readers can learn a lot by combining visuals and text.
