Biz bu formulani kimgadur maslaxat berganimizda yoki kimnidir biror narsa qilishini ma’qul deb bilganimizda ishlatamiz. Bunda would rather dan keyin ega va kesim o’tgan zamon (past simple)da bo’ladi. Lekin gapning ma’nosi hozirgi yoki kelasi zamonga qaratilgan bo’ladi.
I’d rather cook the dinner now.
I’d rather you cooked the dinner now.


Had better do something . (biror narsa qilgan maqul)

Had better ni ma’nosi should ga o’xshab ketadi. Bu biror narsa qilishni yaxshisi, maquli, to’g’risi degan ma’noni anglatadi. Had better dan keyin doim V_I keladi.

Shall I take unberlla? Yes, you had better. It might rain
Lekin had better o’tgan zamonda bo’lsa ham ma’nosi hozirgi va kelasi zamonda bo’ladi. Inkori had better not bilan hosil qilinadi.
You don’t look very well. You had better not go to work today

Had better ma’nosi should bilan o’xshash, lekin aynan bir xil emas. Had better alohida vaziyatlar uchun ishlatiladi. (Umumiy holatlar uchun emas)
Should esa barcha hollarda fikr bildirish yoki maslahat berish uchun ishlatiladi.
It is cold today. You had better wear a coat when you go out. ( alohida vaziyat)
I think all drivers should wear seat belt. (umumiy holatda)
