한 솔: 요코 씨, 한국 음식을 먹을 수 있어요?
요 코: 네, 먹을 수 있어요.
한 솔: 그럼, 우리 한식당에 가요. 불고기를 먹읍시다.
요 코: 네, 좋아요. 그리고 비빔밥도 시킵시다.
Hansol: YoKo, can you eat Korean food?
Yoko : Yes, I can.
Hansol: Well, let’s go to Korean Restaurant. Let’s eat Bulgogi.
Yoko : OK, Let’s order Bibimbap, too.
[Grammar & Patterns]
1. -(으)ㄹ 수 있다
This form attaches to verb stems to indicate ability or possibility. 
When the verb stem ends with a vowel, use ‘-ㄹ 수 있다’. When the 
verb stem ends with a consonant, use ‘-을 수 있다’. The negative form 
of this expression is ‘-(으)ㄹ 수 없다’.
 저는 한국말을 할 수 있어요. I can speak in Korean.
 저는 내일 바빠서 갈 수 없어요. I am busy tomorrow so I can’t go.
2. 도
This marker attaches to nouns to indicate unity, sameness or 
indentity.
 친구가 한국말을 공부해요. The friend studies Korean.
저도 한국말을 공부해요. I also study Korean.
