Intertextuality is understood as the presence of elements of other texts in the text (titles, quotations, allusions, epigraphs or epigraphs, so-called "point quotes", i.e. proper names, geographical names, etc.), which allows us to relate the text in question to other texts, to perceive it as a link of tradition. Intertextuality literally means "including one text in another". This is the Central category that the reader faces when interacting with the text and the writer who created it. A work of art acquires additional depth if the reader can relate it to other texts written earlier and in the form of quotations and allusions reflected in the work under consideration.
Every text contains explicit or hidden quotes, because it is created not from scratch, but in the text environment that has developed before it. All texts are reactions to existing texts and are in dialogical relations. There are texts that have become part of the cultural heritage, metatexts. For English-speaking culture, the metatext is "Alice", a work outside of time and space - a classic of world literature.
Intertextual elements
1. Title (quote taken from another work).
2. Epigraph.
3. Quotation, explicit or implicit, quotation without quotation marks.
4. The names of characters borrowed from other works (the so-called "spot quotes").
5. Allusion.
6. someone else's text as part of a new one (in the form of a retelling, parody, etc.).
7. Quote.
A quote is any conscious or unconscious inclusion of any sign from a "foreign" text or other sign system in the author's text. Every literary text consists of quotations or, in other words, is an intertext.
Any text includes quotations, whether explicit, punctuated, or hidden, since the texts exist in a common intertextual space. A quote is understood as a part of the text that is initially part of another text, integrated by the text in its structure.
The quotation is marked in different ways: italics, quotation marks, and a discharge. It differs in style and subject from the receiving text, and can be given in a foreign language

  1. Structure of a prose text

Prose texts can provide information about the life of the people, natural and social conditions, which are called regional studies (information about Russia is called Russian studies). In this regard, prose can be a source of information not only about life, customs, traditions of a person, but also about his spiritual values. Speech in a prose text is structured as a story about events and persons, which sharply distinguishes it from poetic lyrics, where the poet expresses his feelings. This difference is reflected in the language of a work of art. In prosaic text, mental and psychological phenomena are often reported indirectly, the reader is given the opportunity to identify those moral and psychological collisions that have manifested themselves in life.
A prose narrative often exceeds even a large lyric poem in its volume. This creates difficulties for full perception. To facilitate an adequate perception, the writer is forced to divide the text into separate semantic segments-different in length:
