Warmup-Engage/Introduce







Slide 2 – Board Race Word Grab

  1. Write or print key phrases from last week’s Introduction to the CoP on paper.

  2. Tape the key words/phrases on the wall.

  3. Divide Mentees into 2 teams.

  4. Mentees line up facing the board.

  5. Read the definition or description of a key word/phrase, and say go.

  6. The 2 Mentees at the front of the line run to the board and grab the word that fits your definition/description.

  7. The Mentee who grabs it first shows the rest of the Mentees.

    1. If 2 Mentees grab the word at the same time, they can play rock-paper-scissors to decide who gets the key word/phrase paper.

  8. Do a thumbs up/down to check if all the Mentees agree it is the correct word. If it is, give the team who grabbed the key/word phrase 1 point.

  9. Continue playing until you have read all the key words/phrases.



Transition: Last week in the CoP session, we looked at what CoPs are and what ESN’s CoP would be like. This week we are going to discuss the 3 observations Mentees are expected to do. Let’s start by reviewing the 3 types of observations and looking at the rubric.
