I. Organization moment:
A) Greeting:
Good morning, dear pupils. How are you? Are you ready for the lesson?
B) Duty’s report: The teacher asks the duty of the class and absent pupils.
C) Warm-up: Listen and sing.
Objective: to sing the song “Good morning”
II. Revision of the learnt materials:
Teacher and pupils repeat all the materials together then teacher asks the words and pupils should say them.
III. Explaining the new theme:
Activity 1 Sing the song. 10 min
Objectives: to warm up by singing the song; to check homework
STEP 1: Teacher plays the DVD and asks the pupils to listen to the song and sing it.
STEP 2: Checking homework. Teacher asks the pupils to mingle and ask and answer the questions from Homework.
Activity 2a Read about Anji. 5 min
Objectives: to develop reading skills; to introduce new words: far from, about 20 kilometres
Teacher asks the pupils to read the text about Anji and checks they understand the phrases: “far from the village”, “about 20 kilometres”. Teacher asks the pupils to answer the questions:
1) What does she want to be?
2) How far is her school?
Answer key: She wants to be a maths teacher. Her school is about 20 kilometres from her village.
