NB: 1) Teacher can revise other jobs if necessary e.g. a secretary, a director, a shop assistant, a fireman, a police officer etc.
2) It’s OK if the pupils say ‘at the school’ or ‘in the school’ as both versions are possible. They will learn the difference between them later.
IV. Consolidation:
Activity 3a Read and match. 5 min
Objective: to develop reading skills
Teacher asks the pupils to match 5 short texts with the photos.
Answer key: 1c, 2e, 3b, 4a, 5d
Activity 3b Complete the sentences. 10 min
Objective: to develop reading skills
The pupils complete the sentences using the information from the texts.
Activity 4 Play “Yes./No.” 5 min
Objective: to revise Yes/No questions
Teacher asks the pupils to play Yes/No game and says they should guess their partner’s job by asking questions. Teacher says that they are allowed to ask only Yes/No questions.
e.g. A: Do you work at the school?
B: Yes.
A: Do you teach?
B: No.
A: Are you a secretary?
B: Yes.
V. Conclusion:
Teacher makes conclusion for the lesson by asking the pupils some questions
VI. Marking pupils:
Objective:
To evaluate learners answers and put them marks;
Time: 1 minute
Resources: -
Interaction pattern: plenary
Procedure: Teacher announces learners’ marks for their answers and participation.
VII. Giving Homework: 3 min Homework 5 min
Explain that the pupils must read the sentences and correct them as shown
in the example.
Reflection
During this lesson learners felt themselves freer and do a lot of activities. Such lessons increase learners’ point of view and logically thinking.. That friendly atmosphere during activity helped learners to manage with tasks.
