Peshku District 
Peshku District was established in 1950 and this district borders with Navoi region, the Republic 
of Karakalpakstan, districts of Jondor, Romitan, Shofirkon, and Vobkent. The area of the 
territory is 8,200km
2
.. There are ten (10) rural communities in the Peshku region (Abu Ali ibn Sino, 
Bogimuso, Varakhsha, Jongeldi, Zandoni, Peshku, Chibogani, Yangibazar, Galaimirishkor, 
Karakalpak). The administrative center of the district is the city of Yangibazar. The population 
density is 14 people per km
2
with population recorded to be 122,500 as of 2020, of which 83%

are Uzbeks, 14% Tajiks, 2.33% Kazakhs, 0.3 Tatars, 0.3% Turkmen and the remaining 0.5% are

distributed equally by 50%.

ABOUR MARKET
 
The working-age population in Peshku is 67.2 thousand people. This is one of the biggest 
indicators in the Bukhara region as it is more than 90% of the working-age population in the 
region. Employment in the official sectors amounts 20.4 thousand people, while employment 
in the informal sectors comprises 28.9 thousand people. Labour migrants make up 8296 
people. The total number of unemployed is 4.8 thousand people.
