GRICULTURE AND INDUSTRY
 
The district is engaged in cotton growing, grain growing, vegetable & melon growing, and 
cattle breeding. Forestry and silkworm breeding are also established in the district. The activity 
of industrial enterprises is associated with the processing of agricultural products. There is one

There are 47 secondary schools, 86 preschool institutions and 4 colleges in Peshku district. There 
are 34 various medical centres, 2 hospitals and 185 sport complexes, 9 of which are private.

TILITIES 
 
According to the information provided by Peshku municipality, 100% of population in district 
have access to electricity. Nevertheless, in rural areas, significant shortcomings (frequently 
unstable) in power supply is faced. 79% of residents supplied with potable water. 29% supplied 
with centralized gas while 71% of them have no access to centralized gas and use gas 
cylinders or wood. As there is no centralised sewage system, people use pit latrines

In this district, there are a total of 12 archaeological sites, 12 architectural monuments and the 
site of the Ensemble Khuja Peshku cultural heritage of Uzbekistan

The nearest settlement to the project site is Kalaata and Dzhankeldy villages. The socio-
economic characteristics of these villages are described in: Socio-Economic Chapter in Part 
A of this ESIA.
