  1. Public speaking and its connection with Ethics

Ethics or Moral Philosophy, is the branch of Philosophy dealing with the questions of what is good and bad, what is right and wrong, trying to assets what moral duty is. Ethics is connected with: philosophy, religious studies, cultural studies, etc. Ethics is an “art to live”. The main value in ethics is a human life and a human being. A human being is unique: has consciousness, instincts, memory, soul, plans, mysteries, etc.

2. Alisher Navoi- the sultan of the realm of speech
Alisher Navoi devoted chapter 24 of his work “Mahbubul-qulub” to oratory. In this work, the speech skills of dozens of orators(Hodja Muayyad Mehnagiy, Mawlana Riyazi,Mawlana Irshad ,Hotam Asom, Voiz Kashifi, Muin Voiz )are mentioned too. In his book Mahbub-ulQulub, he writes: it is a disaster for the head if the speaker uses a word inappropriately. "

At that time, those who were engaged in the art of oratory and related fields were called “nadims, narrators, storytellers, badihagoys, reciters, problem-solvers, orators, waizs, guyandas, maddahs and ode-tellers”.


3.Ethics in public speaking.
1. Show Respect for Your Audience
One of the most important things you need to learn as a public speaker is showing respect for your audience.
2. Respect Your Audience’s Time.Your audience values their time too so don’t waste it.A good way to do this effectively is good preparation. If you prepare well in advance, it will keep you from running overtime.
3. Prepare Your Speech
Good preparation is an ethic in public speaking you dare not overlook. This is an ethical issue not just because the level of preparation determines the level of your success but also because it shows the value you place on your audience.
4. Be Honest and Don’t Mislead Your Audience
If you are not sure about a piece of information, fact, or statistics, don’t use it! Nothing can hurt a speaker’s credibility more than inaccurate, distorted information.
5. Avoid Plagiarism
Avoid using another person’s work without permission.
7. Be Yourself
Everybody is unique. Even identical twins are different in some ways. don’t try to be someone you are not!
