Why the pilot didn‟t want to leave the Towerfrequency?

  • The pilot tryed to inform АТС about wind shear.

  • Innitiality he didn't, understood.

  • What information did the pilot want the controller to know?

  • Information about wind shear below 200 feet, plus 20 knots.

  • Why did he share this information with the controller?

  • Because pilots should always report to controller about significant conditions during flight. Such as: wind shear, turbulence, icing etc.


At 16:44 PSTflight 336 took offfrom San Jose for a flight to Santa Ana. 48 minutes later the crew received a clearance for a visual approach to runway 19 right.
While flight 336 approached, the controller cleared Air California flight 931 for a runway 19 right take-off. Once he'd recognized the hazard, the controller ordered flight 336 to abort the landing and go around, and flight 931 to abort the take-off. Flight 931 rejected its take-off, but flight 336 landed with the gear retracted.

The 737 left the runway surface at 900feet past the threshold and skidded another 1170 feet before coming to rest 115 feet to the right of the centerline.

Probable cause: the captain's failure to immediately initiate a go-around when instructed to do so by the tower's air traffic controller, and his subsequent failure to correctly execute the specified go-around procedure which resulted in the retraction of the landing gear after the aircraft touched down on the runway.
Вероятная причина: капитану не удалось немедленно приступить к уходу на второй круг, когда получил данную инструкцию от Tower, и как результат не состоятельность правильно выполнить процедуру ухода на второй круг, которая явилась следствием посадки субранным шасси.
