cultural values that have come down to us from the Avesto have shown their continuity and
continuity over time..
The Avesto is an invaluable source of knowledge about the spiritual culture of the
peoples of ancient Central Asia. The meaning of the word "Avesto" is not general, it is often
translated as "main text". The Avesto is a sacred word for the followers of Zoroastrianism,
one of the oldest religions in the world, from which the prophet Zoroaster preached to the
congregation. The period of his life is mil. av. It is called around the IX-VI centuries. The
Avesto and other texts have been collected for centuries. The oldest texts of the Avesto av.
Dating back to the 2nd millennium BC, the Avesto collection, which dates back to the 7th
century AD, consists of 21 books of various contents, which contain all the knowledge of
that period. According to Zoroastrian tradition, this monument is a revelation of
Ahuramazda, the god of goodness and light, to Zarathustra. However, it also depicts ancient
mythological imagery, the prevalence of myths, and excerpts from heroic epic legends.
Zoroastrianism also developed a "symbol of faith" after the "prophetic era" of religious
guidance. So far, some parts of the Avesto, 4 books have survived:
1. Videvdat - "Laws against Demons", this book is mainly about the conversation,
guidance and instructions between Zoroaster and Ahuramazda, about the return of the forces
of evil that rule Ahriman, the god of darkness and evil.
2. Visprat - "All Rulers", this book is a collection of prayers.
3. Yasna - The book "Prayer", "Ritual" consists of worship and address to the gods.
Chapter 17 of the Yasna, entitled The Tots, is a sacred song by Zoroaster.
4. Yasht - "Respect", the book "Praise" - about the ancient hymns glorifying the gods
and the forces that help the gods of good to fight evil. The Avesto also includes the Little
Avesto, written in the Avesto language and containing words of prayer.
