INTRODUCTION (abstract of the PhD dissertation)
The aim of the research is to improve the methodology of formation of algorithmic thinking skills of preschool children.
The tasks of the research are as follows:
To study and analyze the scientific-researches of our country and foreign countries on the formation of algorithmic thinking skills of preschool children;
To study and define the concept of “Computational thinking” (Digital thinking) based on foreign sources, which is one of the necessary skills for a person of the 21st century;
To study age-specific mental cognitive processes and the formation and development stages of figurative thinking formed at preschool age in order to learn the problem of forming algorithmic thinking skills of preschool children;
To develop of didactic and computer games ensuring the integration of modern pedagogical and information technologies in the formation of algorithmic thinking skills of preschool children;
To create an adaptive model reflecting the process of forming algorithmic thinking skills of preschool children based on the data;
To develop a criteria for determining the impact of algorithmic thinking skills on the cognitive development of preschool children.
The object of the dissertation is the process of forming algorithmic thinking skills of preschool children (3-7 years old).
The scientific novelty of the research is as follows:
The essence of the concept of “digital thinking” has been revealed based on algorithmic forms of thinking such as object-active, object-image, logical, creative, abstract, as well as competency approaches such as working in cooperation, determining the most optimal solution to a problem, and purposeful self-development with a focus on the profession;
The didactic and computer games and a set of tasks such as “Sxema asosida o‘z uyingni top” (Find your home based on the scheme), “Quvnoq algoritm” (Funny algorithm), “O‘zbekistonning tarixiy shaharlariga ketma-ket qadamlar bilan sayohat qilamiz” (Traveling step by step to the historical cities of Uzbekistan), “Xazina izlab” (Looking for treasure), “Raqamli tafakkur sari ilk qadam” (The first step towards digital thinking) have been improved in accordance of the integration of modern pedagogical and information technologies in the formation of algorithmic thinking skills of preschool children, as well as their flexibility with the requirements of the state curriculum.
A criteria was improved to determine the impact of the formation of algorithmic thinking skills in preschool children on the basis of the constituents of figurative thinking (topological, projection, order, metric and algebraic) and logical thinking on the level of children's cognitive development.
The conceptual-content component of the model of formation of algorithmic thinking skills of preschool children has been improved on the basis of ensuring the adaptive connection of vertical integration with the system of formation of intellectual abilities aimed at harmonizing digital thinking under the influence of complex factors.
