Annotation: The article is devoted to the issue of studying the term and
terminology of the logical phrase in English economic texts. The paper considers
the structure of multi-component terminological phrases, monitors the ways of
translating terms and terminological phrases into Uzbek.
Key words: economic term, terminological phrase, translation, classifications of
terms.
In Uzbekistan, many studies were conducted in the research and development
of the field of terminology. Especially the development of socio-economic and
political lexicon is well revealed in the researches of H. Dadaboev. Almost all
scientific works of the scientist are devoted to the study of terminological

238
problems, some historical etymology of ancient Turkic language (vi-x), old Turkic
language (xi-xiv) and old Uzbek literary language (xv-xix) and actively used
customary terms were scientifically comprehensively analyzed on the example of
the Uzbek language [1]. Economic terms are words and phrases of a special
language used to denote logically precisely formulated concepts of a given branch
of knowledge, and form the basis of economic theory. The characteristic features
of an economic term as a unit of scientific knowledge include unambiguity,
accuracy, systematicity, brevity, lack of synonyms and emotional coloring. There
are many classifications of terms. The classification of English economic terms is
based on various individual features of terms. So, for example, a meaningful
classification of terms is distinguished. It is based on the logical categories of the
concept that is denoted by the term. According to this principle, economic terms
are distinguished: objects (currencies - monetary units), processes (controlling -
control, trade - trade), signs, properties (asset turnover - asset turnover), quantities
and their units (liquidity ratio - liquidity ratio). Classification according to the
content structure makes it possible to single out single-valued terms (tax - tax,
inflation - inflation) and multi-valued terms, that is, those that have two or more
meanings within one system of terms. The classification of terms according to
formal structure is very fragmented. First of all, terms-words are distinguished,
which are divided into root (income - income), derivatives (overproduction -
overproduction), complex (bootstrapping - bootstrapping), etc. Phrases are also
distinguished [3]. In the conditions of integration of our country into the world the
economic community is constantly growing number of texts on economic topics,
representing of great interest to the Uzbek-speaking reader. Therefore, from a
linguistic point of view, everything of great importance is the study English
economic terminology and methods its translation into Uzbek. Structural-
morphological and lexical- semantic properties of terms of different terminologies
stems are also the object of scientific description (L. B. Ezdekova, T. S.
Kondratieva, Yu. N. Sidorenko, N. A. Nazarenko, B. N. Rakhimberdiev, E. G.
Bezzateeva, I. A. Pushkareva, etc.). Despite the seemingly numerous studies in the

239
field of studying the term, up to Today there are many definitions of it
[2].Research and practical work is devoted to the problems of translation of
economic texts not only here in Russia, but primarily abroad. As mentioned above,
globalization is a ubiquitous process, and it is the English language that has fallen
into the role of the main tool for business communication. To date, many
dictionaries have appeared to help achieve this goal. Exploring such dictionaries,
you can find a lot of examples of phrases of a terminological nature that require a
detailed explanation. For example, let's look at the dictionary "Collins Cobuild
Business Vocabulary in Practice", Harper Collins Publishers, Glasgow, GB, 2006,
page. 13-25
In the Business & Businesses section, the compilers of the dictionary have
placed words and phrases that present difficulties in understanding, the
misinterpretation of which can lead to a breakdown in communication. For
example: boom-bust cycle, bull market, bubble, bear market, etc.
Below are examples of the use of these owls and phrases:
City analysts describe emerging markets as bubble economies.
We are on the edge of a bear market in technology shares.
Economic boom set to run for years.
Such a detailed presentation of the terms in the examples is quite due to the narrow
scope of their application [4]. Classification according to the semantic principle
makes it possible to single out unambiguous terms (tax soliq, inflation inflyatsiya)
and polysemantic terms, that is, those that have two or more meanings within the
same system of terms (stock 1. zaxira, zaxira, fond; 2. assortiment (tovarlar); 3.
inventar, mulk 4. xom ashyo 5. Capital and so on). However, as a rule, the
ambiguity of the term does not prevent its correct understanding. In context:
companies are adding to the national stock of capital at an historically slow
pace [5]. Thus, the terminology of the text should not complicate the perception
information to the reader, especially since the journals in question are initially
aimed at knowledgeable reader with sufficient background knowledge.

240
Thus, it is necessary to take into account mania for the fact that the term
functions in the text, and, consequently, when translating English economic term
into Uzbek, it is necessary to generalize refer to specialized dictionaries, as well as
take into account the role of the context and correctly apply translation techniques.
A special problem is no translation of multicomponent terminological word
combinations, therefore requires special attention the issue of developing exercises
aimed at learning to translate them.
