Physiotherapy in stomatology

1. Diadynamic therapy - use of the modulated sinusoidal pulse current for medical purposes. There is a periodic change of the current 
direction, and the current is modulated by amplitude. Redistribution of ions in fabrics, the change of membranes and cellular covers 
permeability, improvement of blood circulation, trophy and anesthesia are in the base of the mechanism. In consequence of it protective 
properties of tissues increase, and biologically active substances (heparin, histamine like substances) are cumulated in the tissues. 
For diadynamic therapy the

-1 device is applied, which has a set of electrodes that allows receiving some versions of 
current with definite impulse duration, frequency, etc. 
1. A single-cycle continuous current with frequency of 50Hz, is used for electric stimulation of muscles 
2. The duple-cycle continuous current with frequency of 100Hz, which improves electroconductivity of the skin by expansion of 
vessels, has fast, but weak anesthetizing effect, removes muscle spasm. 
3. Current modulated by short periods - alternation of the single-cycle and the duple-cycle continuous currents, after 1sec. It is used at 
the diseases accompanied by pain syndrome: at neuritis and neuralgias of facial and trigeminal nerves, at neurovascular vegetative 
disorders, stiffness of TMJ. 
4. Current modulated by long periods - a combination of the single-cycle continuous current 3,5sec. and the duple-cycle continuous 
current 6,5sec., and 2sec. are spent for the change. It is used at neuralgia of facial and trigeminal nerves, myalgias. 
5. Faltering rhythmical current (rhythm of syncope) - is characterized by change of the single-cycle current and pauses after 1sec. It 
stimulates blood supply, trophy, and is applied for electric stimulation of muscles. 
6. Single-cycle waved - during 1sec., the current of 50Hz gradually raises from zero to maximum on which it keeps 3sec., and then 
gradually falls down to zero. After that, pause of 3,5sec. follows. It has stimulating effect at expense of muscles reduction. 
7. Duple waved - with frequency of 100 Hz, during 1,5sec raises to maximum and keeps 2sec. then gradually falls down to zero during 
1,5sec. and then pause of 2sec. It possesses braking and soft stimulating effect. It is possible to apply for children. 
Duration of the session increases from 5 to 15 minutes. The course of treatment - 4-5 procedures, it is better to spend sessions 
every day.
