Notes: The exterior of a Solander box is often covered with fabric and the interior
lined with heavy paper.A Solander box may be constructed like a clamshell case.
Three of the sides of the lid and the base are roughly the same size and designed to
nest, while the fourth side of the lid and base is shared and serves as a hinge. In some
designs, the top is relatively shallow. The box was invented by botanist Daniel
Charles Solander when working at the British Museum (1773–1782).

solarization. For example, the sun may appear dark in an otherwise normal image.
Solarization is distinguished from the Sabattier effect,which results in a reversal of
tones due to exposure to light during development.
