How to make the national food
Tashkent is famous for its palov. It is usually made from yellow carrots and small pieces of meat. The best meat for palov is lamb. People like eating palov with their fingers, not with forks or spoons. Palov is very filling too. They say that it can make people strong and healthy. It is good for people who work hard. Samarkand is famous for its patir. It is usually big and it can last for a long time. This type of bread is good for long journeys and it is very filling.
Jizzakh is famous for its somsa. It is very delicious and very big. The usual meat for somsa is lamb or beef. And there are a lot of onions in it. Fresh hot somsa looks attractive and smells wonderful. But I would like to tell you how to make it. For palov you need a kilo of rice, a kilo of meat, a kilo of carrots, some oil, half a kilo of onions, some spices. First you should fry meat with onions and then add the carrots. Next you should pour some water and add the rice, saul and spices. You should cook it on a little heat for about15 minutes. Serve palov hot with some salad and enjoy your meal!
