Each paragraph in IELTS Writing Task 2 ought to involve a topic sentence that highlights the
main idea of the paragraph, allowing the reader to realize what this paragraph is going to be
about.
In one instance, if a body paragraph is going to discuss the advantages of tourism, then the
reader should know about this once they read the topic sentence itself.
To illustrate, if a topic sentence says “There are various benefits to studying overseas”, you
can understand that the paragraph will discuss the benefits of studying in a foreign country.

Some people think that children should be banned from using their phones in school,
while others disagree. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
Nowadays, it is common to see children using their smartphones everywhere, even in the
classroom.
Some believe they should be restricted from
using phones during the lesson,
whereas others hold opposing views.
I support the latter point of view as mobile phones can
give students a wide range of opportunities to learn.
Some educationalists argue that phone use should be prohibited for students in the classroom
since it may adversely affect the learning process.
This is because when students are allowed
to use their mobile phones, they tend to play video games and watch endless hilarious videos
instead of staying focused on the lessons being delivered.
As a result, they are unlikely to
soak
up knowledge, thereby falling behind their peers and studying without noticeable
academic achievement.
