The Ministry of Tourism recognizes that media management is among the most
efficient and influential communication instruments.
It will have proactive and
reactive media activity worldwide to promote Incredible India as a preferred
destination.
13.9.2. Media familiarization trips
Ministry of Tourism will focus on press trips and on proactively suggesting topics for
journalists. Incredible India will work closely with new and traditional media
professionals (print
and online media, TV channels,
influencers, bloggers,
social
publishers, etc.). These will be selected in a targeted fashion and supplied with the
appropriate content, and nurturing a long-term relationship. The Ministry of Tourism
will organize mega familiarisation tours inviting famous travel writers / journalists to
India to obtain first-hand knowledge of Indian tourism products and destinations.
13.9.3. Corporate communications
Using targeted media activities, Incredible India will ensure that public and various
other stakeholders are made aware of the high economic relevance of tourism for
India and show how Ministry’s activities contribute to tourism development.
13.9.4. Data journalism
Extensive data from the Ministry’s market research as well as from numerous
external sources will be prepared as journalistic content
and made available for
media activities. Incredible India to be developed as a trusted source of information
that media professionals can be happy to use.
