ESIA Methodology
This section provides information about the data collection and consultation process
undertaken to inform the ESIA and the methodology that has
been used to describe the
sensitivity of environmental and social receptors; predict the magnitude of environmental and
social impacts and assess the significance of impacts upon applicable environmental
parameters.
4.2.1
Baseline Studies and Research
Forming
an integral part of the ESIA, the baseline surveys provide a benchmark of the existing
conditions by which the potential impacts of the proposed project can be assessed for the
construction and operational phase.
This ESIA has been informed by a review of relevant desktop information as well as a series of
physical site surveys which have been summarised in the relevant environmental and social
impact assessment chapters of this report. The environmental baseline surveys carried out as
