Competence approach in education: synergy model 
Abstract. The article presents a historical analysis of the formation of the concepts of 
"competence" and "competence". Within the framework of the identified terminological uncertainty 
and debatability, these terms are proposed to be interpreted as “fuzzy concepts” or linguistic 
variables in fuzzy logic. In the conditions of fuzzy concepts of the competency-based approach, 
the use of a synergistic formalism for providing competent development in a self-organization 
mode, which is a synergistic reduction in the continuity of the educational process as a 
necessary condition for ensuring an adequate response of the education system to the modern 
challenges of Globalization 4.0, is first proposed. It is concluded that it is necessary to shape the 
innovative infrastructure of educational institutions to form competencies in creativity and 
entrepreneurship as a way of dynamic randomization the educational system, ensuring its updating 
and sustainable development.
