MOVAROUNNAHR VILOYATLARI (Eng. Provinces of Mowaraun-nahr) – there can be seen the expression of “movarounnahr viloyati (province of Mawaraun-nahr)” in Baburname This fact proves that whole the territory of Mawaraun-nahr was mentioned as one province. Besides that there were counted other provinces of Mawaraun-nahr in Baburnama as: Badakhshan, Bukhara, Dizak (present Jizzakh), and Sirdarya, Isfara (in the western side of Fergana valley, which consisted of four parts), Karmina, Kuhistan (a part of Badakhshan), Smarkand, Tashkent, Ushrana (aprt of present day Auratipa), Fergana valley, Hatlan, Kwarizm, Huzar (presently Guzar, Qashqadarya), Chaghaniyan, Qarshi, Qarakul (presen day Bukhara region) and Qarategin. These provinces existing even present days though bear different names. However, the Fergana valley now has been divided into Andijan, Namangan, Fergana regions of Uzbekistand and Sughd region of Tajikistan, including Aush, Jalalabad and Batken regions of Kirgiztan. In ancient time the territory of present day Qashqadarya region was divided into Qarshi and Ghuzar provinces. Present Bukhara also was divided into Bukhara and Qarakul provinces while present Navai region was included into Bukhara. The ancient province of Chaghaniyan was on present day Surhandarya region. Provinces Kuhistan and Qarategin situated in central and southern part of Tadjikistan, where the historical toponyms still kept.

MOZIY HARF – It is a linguistic term of Arabic origin. It expressed the suffix “-di, -ti” which means past tense of the verb in Turkic language. “there is another “tashdid” originated from the past tense of Turkic language [“A”, on folio 22 a]. Babur used such words as “ketdi, o’tdi” in the other form as “ketti, o’tti” in order to suit them into rhyme. (see also Odot).

MOZU (MODU) QO’RG’ONI (Eng. Mazu(Madu) fortress) - It is a name of the fortress or castle near Aush. Ahmad Tambal left their small army led by his brother Halil to defend the fortress (1599). Babur surrounded the fortress but being too strong he could not seize it and took much damage. Defenders of the fort throw big stones in the size of pot to attackers. Babur succeeded in the fight though the strong resistance and took enemy into prison. Babur gained the important strategic skill of war which was used successfully in his future battles.
