ce Requirements Regarding “Objectivity in Research” The U.S. Public Health Service (PHS) promulgated a final rule on “Objectivity in Research” (reference Federal Register 07/11/95, 42 CFR Part 50 [Grants/Cooperative Agreements], 45 CFR Part 94 [Government Procurement]). RTI is required to comply with these regulations. These regulations establish standards and procedures to be followed by institutions that apply for research funding from PHS. Proprietary Information RTI personnel may have access to information that RTI considers proprietary. Proprietary information is that information in the possession of RTI (including, but not limited to, business, financial, personnel, or technological information, plans, or data) or information about firms with which RTI does business that is not generally available to the public. Because others can profit from your access, it is important not to use or disclose proprietary information except as authorized by RTI and to provide adequate safeguards to prevent loss of such information. Drugs and Alcohol It is the policy of RTI to maintain an alcohol and drug free workplace. Employees engaged in any of the following conduct are subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination: (i) the use, purchase, possession, manufacture, distribution or dispensing of alcohol or any illegal drug (i.e., any drug that is not legally obtained) on RTI property, on RTI worksites, in RTI vehicles or while on duty; (ii) failure to cooperate with RTI during searches and investigations under this policy; (iii) lack of satisfactory participation in an agreed-upon and required treatment or counseling program; (iv) failure to pass any drug or alcohol test at any point, if applicable; (v) failure to notify RTI of a criminal drug conviction, if required. In addition, any employee taking medications will be responsible for consulting with his/her physician to determine whether the medication may interfere with the adequate or safe performance of his/her job duties. If the medication could compromise the adequate performance of job duties or the safety of any individual, it is the employee’s responsibility to take appropriate actions to avoid same. Employees who are unable to perform their assigned duties due to impairment will be required to leave the premises (and charge leave, as appropriate). RTI reserves the right to search all vehicles, containers, lockers or other items on RTI property or RTI worksites. RTI also reserves the right to cooperate with or enlist the services of the proper law enforcement authorities in the Uzbekistan LN Employee Handbook February 2020 14 course of any investigation. Employees may be required to display personal property for visual inspection upon request. Failure to consent to a search or to display personal property for visual inspection may subject the employee to disciplinary action, up to and including termination. RTI will turn over all confiscated drugs to the proper law enforcement authorities. Any employee who is convicted or a criminal drug violation in the workplace must notify the Project Director of such conviction in writing within five calendar days of the conviction. Failure to do so may subject the employee to disciplinary action, up to and including termination. Download 243.52 Kb. Do'stlaringiz bilan baham: |
