Respect for RTI
We recognize that the strength of RTI International lies in our commitment, collectively and
individually, to RTI's vision, mission, values, strategies and practices. Our commitment to the
Institute is the foundation for all other organizational commitments.
Fiscal Responsibility
We operate with financial integrity and transparency. We are accountable for cost
competitiveness and continuing financial responsibility.
Objectivity
Our work is independent of undue influences by political, economic, or other factors. We
maintain the highest level of scientific objectivity in our work.
Lead Forward
Lead Forward was created to empower everyone at RTI to think of themselves as leaders by
defining the ideas, culture and critical behaviors that will support our strategy.
Lead Forward is
a practical model based on the hexagon—a basic building block in chemistry and nature—
because the best leaders are solid yet flexible and can quickly adapt to change. It has global
relevance that is easily translated across the organization, including a focus on developing staff
and cultivating leadership strengths.
It also answers the big question – “How will I step up to meet RTI’s next challenges?” Any staff
member can use the six behaviors identified in the hexagon to achieve success for yourself as a
leader, with your team and beyond, and in concert with RTI’s mission.
