Life Insurance/Survivor Benefit
RTI provides a Survivor Benefit plan which provides financial security for the employee’s family against death due to illness, accidental and natural causes. Death as a result of suicide is not covered. Additionally, work related accidental death is not covered under this but is covered under work injury insurance. The amount of the benefit is 24 (twenty-four) months of the employee’s salary calculated at the time of death. The Private Life insurance/Death benefit requires the review and approval of the Regional HR Office. Maternity/Paternity Leave In accordance with the laws of Uzbekistan, eligible female employees are entitled to receive 90 working days of maternity leave per calendar year. Employees may also elect to charge some or all of their absence to their available paid time off and/or sick leave, if applicable. In order to receive this leave, the employee is required to submit a confirming medical certificate which sets forth the expected delivery date of the child. This medical certificate must be attached to the Leave Request Form, which also is required to be submitted. If the leave is foreseeable, the employee must provide a minimum of 30 days prior notice and make efforts to schedule leave so as not to unduly disrupt the operations of the office. When the leave is not foreseeable, the employee must give notice as soon as possible, preferably within two (2) business days. Prior to the leave, the employee must set up a schedule for reporting to his/her supervisor concerning the leave status and intention to return to work. Upon returning from maternity or paternity leave, the employee will be guaranteed return to the original position or transfer to an equivalent position at the same rate of pay and without loss of any service or employment benefits accrued prior to the leave. However, an employee may not gain additional benefits or an extended employment period because of the leave. For example, if a regular employee’s pre-stated term of employment ends prior to the conclusion of his/her leave, the employee will not be guaranteed employment beyond his/her original separation date. If the employee elects not to return to work at the expiration of the leave, then he/she will be deemed to have abandoned the position, and it will be filled on a permanent basis. Uzbekistan LN Employee Handbook February 2020 7 According to the labor law, following the birth of the baby, the mother who has returned to work will be granted 1 hour per day for 1 year for breastfeeding, to be taken in one or two break(s). Such time will be considered as working hours, but the schedule should be discussed with the employee’s supervisor. If required by the laws of Uzbekistan, eligible male employees are entitled to receive 10 working days of paternity leave per calendar year. Employees may elect to charge some or all of their absence to their available paid time off and/or sick leave, if applicable. Download 243.52 Kb. Do'stlaringiz bilan baham: |
