LINGUOCULTURAL APPROACH TO PAREMIAS https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.8141313 Badridinova Aziza Abrol qizi National University of Uzbekistan, Foreign philology faculty Department of Foreign language and literature, PhD student Tel: 97 776-36-31, E-mail: aziza_badridinova@mail.ru Abstract: The article provides information about linguacultural peculiarities of paremias. There are also different views of scholars on proverbs which consist of cultural information. English and Uzbek proverbs were given as an example. 293 Key words: Cultural linguistics, paremia, realia, mentality, paremiological units, culture, tradition, folk-proverbs. Expressing culture and traditions of nations in paremiological units was studied by various scientists. The views of the German scientist W. Humboldt about the embodiment of all national levels in the language provide the theoretical foundation of linguistic and cultural studies. [1,43] World linguists interpret linguistic and cultural studies in different ways. Paremias are important linguistic units that express the culture of people and express the way of life and lifestyle of mankind, as they originate from the national language. Paremias serve as the most important means of expressing the culture, values and beliefs of each nation, as well as the unique aspects of the people as a whole. V. Telia, the founder of the direction of linguistic and cultural studies, while studying the phraseological sources of the language, considers the proverb as a unique national "code" or the language of domestic culture. [2, 214] V.Telia explains that it is a tool that clearly shows culture and its elements.[3, 203] So, we can consider the lifestyle, geographical location, tasks, religion, literature, traditions and customs of mankind as factors that manifest the culture of people. According to O. Lauxakangas, paremia is a "small size tradition". [4] Cultural Linguistics is not only a branch of modern linguistics, but it has a very broad object of study. Let us take as an example the thoughts of the Russian linguist V. V.Vorobyev in this regard: “Лингвокультурология исследует живые коммуникативные процессы порождения и восприятия речи, опыт языковой личности и национальный менталитет, дает системное описание языковой картины мира и обеспечивает выполнение образовательных, воспитательных и интеллектуальных задач обучения.”[5,125] Cultural Linguistics, which is the object of study of linguistics and culture, can be simply a word, a phrase, a proverb or a wise saying. In particular, professor A.E. Mamatov defines linguacultureme as "a complex linguistic and cultural unity that expresses the material and spiritual culture of a certain people, the nation, its whole being in language and speech units" [6, 14]. 294 In addition, in the opinion of B. Shamsematova, who covered the linguistic- cultural study of language units expressing national values in English and Uzbek languages in her doctoral dissertation, proverbs reflecting values in English are mostly simple and complex, while in Uzbek proverbs are one- and two-line. The lexemes used in the phraseological units included in the proverbs of both languages have almost remained in their meaning, and the proverbs used in figurative sense are few in number. In the book "Uzbek folk proverbs" there are 235 proverbs on the subject of "value and worthlessness". [7,20] According to linguist N. E. Abdullayeva, proverbs often use place names, names of famous people, historical and religious events and legends, and national concepts as components. She says that in order for the reader to understand the names in the proverbs, he must know the culture of that nation: As patient as Job Turkistonda qo‘y bir so‘m, Kela-kela o‘n bir so‘m. Set the Thames on Fire. Palov desang, payshanbaga, Do‘lma desang, dushanbaga. Hamlet without the Prince of Osh – avliyo, non – payg‘ambar. Denmark. Rub Alladin’s lamp. Bomdodda boshlangan ish Xufton bo‘lmay bitadi. The meekness of Moses is Sunbulada suv soviydi, Mezonda – Better than the strength of kun. Samson.[8, 68] As can be seen from the above examples, any proverb or saying does not have a linguo-cultural characteristic. Some people are national in them culture related keywords should be included . Download 3.76 Mb. Do'stlaringiz bilan baham: |
