Phraseomatic meaning:
It is information produced by set expressions with complicated meaning, but without transference (no metaphor or metonymy);
Phraseological units have fully or partly transferred meaning, while phraseomatic units are used in their literal meaning:
Better late than never;
To shrug one’s shoulders;

119. A euphemism is a substitution of words and expressions of milder vague connotations for rough, unpleasant and indecent expressions.


Instead of the word “die” the following set expressions can be used: to pass away, to go to glory, to go to heaven, to go to a better world, to kick the bucket.
120. Nominative-communicative phraseological units include verbal word-groups of the type to break the ice
Nominative-Communicative phraseological units are of several types as well. The first type is verbal phraseological units. Verbal phraseological units refer to this type in such cases: a) when the verb is not used in the Passive voice ( to drink like a fish; to buy a pig in a poke; to close one’s eyes on something ; b) if the verb is not used in the Active voice (to be reduced to a shadow; to be gathered to one’s fathers).
Nominative-communicative structure (set expressions with verbs in infinitive form in Active voice and with sentence structure in Passive voice): to break the ice – the ice is broken; to spill the beans – the beans are spilt;
