The demand for fish and fish products is increasing year by year. Therefore,
special attention is being paid to the further development of fisheries in our
country. Issues of improvement of current fishing technologies and introduction
of new rapid technologies are urgent issues. There are several reasons for using
artificial feeding in addition to the natural feed base:
- If the quality of natural food is not sufficient, feeding fish, that is, this food base
does not ensure good growth of fish;
-When you want to significantly increase fish production, ie. producing more
salable fish from the same pond or achieving faster fish growth.
In this case, you go from an extensive system to a semi-intensive system. This
requires you to know what kind of supplement to choose. When choosing, give
preference to nutrients with the following indicators. Selection of additional feeds
with a high amount of protein, carbohydrates and a low amount of fibrous
compounds will give effective results, and the above are well consumed by the
fish. The supplement you choose should be affordable, readily available, have
minimal additional cost for transportation, processing, and easy to handle and
store. Our advice to small farmers is to cooperate and purchase feed together, if
possible, so that excess costs for transport, processing, etc. are reduced.
Amino acids are mainly provided by animal products, oilseeds. Proteins are the
main material for the growth of fish tissues and organs, and they are necessary at
all stages of the life cycle. Carbohydrates, such as starch, cellulose, sugar,
provide energy for vital processes. Cereals are good sources of carbohydrates.
