Introduction
Uzbekistan has long been considered as one of the centers of science and culture connecting East and West. The medicine of our country is very rich and has a thousand-year history. During the years of independence, important and bold steps were taken in the field of medicine development and personnel training in our country. In this regard, a number of works were carried out at Urgench branch of the Tashkent Medical Academy, too.
The medical profession is the most honorable and difficult profession among the professions, and at the same time from the student who chooses each medical sphere, demands for having deep knowledge, high spiritual human qualities, behavior, manners, worldview, according to his thinking, ability to think, his love and attention to patients who are suffering from pain, not to put his own interests before the interests of others, to have the qualities that every patient can empathize with people required. Every student who enters our branch takes the student oath upon enrollment and the "Oath of a doctor of Uzbekistan" upon graduation, and works faithfully to this oath for the rest of his life.
In March 1992, Urgench branch of the 1st Tashkent State Medical Institute was established in the city of Urgench. In 2005, it was transformed into the Urgench branch of Tashkent Medical Academy. Today, there are 5 faculties, 32 departments in the branch, and the educational process is organized in 11 bachelor's directions, 27 clinical residency courses, and 11 magistracy specialties. The number of students today is more than 3.5 thousand, 300 professors and teachers, 12 doctors of science, professors, more than 120 candidates of science, associate professors, doctors of philosophy, senior teachers and assistants are teaching the secrets of medicine to students.
Over the past 30 years, the university have graduated: 3,946 bachelor general practitioners in 9 fields, 1,560 clinical ordinators graduated in 35 specialties and are working in medical practice and at the university. This year, for the first time, graduators of the master's degree were given a white blessing on the path of great science. First foreign MBBS students received bachelor's degree. Today, 5 doctors of science and more than 30 candidates of science have graduated from the university. During the past period, 3 students received the state award named after Zulfiya, 2 students received the scholarship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, 8 students received the Ibn Sina State scholarship, 4 students received the Islam Karimov State scholarship, and many students received scholarships of the Association of Doctors of Uzbekistan established for students of medical universities. In addition, more than 20 students won prizes at international and national science Olympiads in different years.
From 2018, it was allowed to admit foreign citizens to the educational institution. Today, 600 students from 8 countries such as India, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Russian Federation, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, the USA are studying, and their number is increasing year by year. In cooperation with the Medical Research University of Nizhny Novgorod of the Russian Federation, students are trained in treatment and pharmacy, and in medical biology of the Kazan Federal University.

By getting acquainted with this Code in detail, you will thoroughly study the content and essence of each section and articles written in it, and the knowledge, qualifications and skills you have acquired from this Code will not only help you during your study at the branch, but also during your medical career. I hope that it will serve as a program in your behavior, in your walking posture, in paying attention to the patients around you who need your help, in fulfilling your highly honorable and difficult, and at the same time meritorious profession as a doctor in life!
This Code of Ethics consists of 10 chapters and 35 articles, and it is intended for the professor-teachers, staff, masters working in the branch, clinical residents and students to live in a harmonious and peaceful environment, to develop in all aspects and to have a cultural unity. It serves to understand each other, as well as the honor, obligation and responsibility of the person receiving and giving education, including the requirements for behavior, dressing and official communication. Persons who do not comply with the norms of this code will be taken measures in accordance with the established procedure. This code of the branch was discussed and approved on August 27, 2022, at the Council meeting No. 1.
