Can+have+(done) –bo’lishsiz va so’roq gaplarda ishlatilib,haqiqatda sodir bo’lgan ish-harakatning bunday bo’lishi mumkin emas degan ma’noda ishlatiladi:

Could have (done)—Biror ish-harakatning sodir bo’lishi mumkin bo’lgan,lekin sodir bo’lmay qolgan holatga nisbatan ishlatiladi:

I didn’t know that you wanted to go to the concert.I could have got you a ticket(men sizning konsertga bormoqchiligingizni bilmapman.Men sizga biror chipta olib qo’yardim)

Davron was lucky.He could have hurt himself when he fell,but he’s OK.(Davronning omadi bor ekan.Yiqilganida shikastlanishi mumkin edi,lekin ahvoli yaxshi)

Ba’zan could shart-istak maylida(subjunctive mood),ya’ni “would be able to” o’rnida ishlatilishi mimkin.Bunda hozirgi va kelasi zamondagi noreal,ya’ni amalga oshmaydigan ish-harakat uchun ishlatiladi:

I couldn’t live in a big city. I’d hate it.(=it wouldn’t possible for me)—men katta shaharda yashay olmagan bo’lardim.jonimga tegib ketar edi.

Everything is fine right now.Things couldn’t be better—Ayni damda hammasi yaxshi. Bundan yaxshirog’I bo’lmaydi.

Could have (done)--=would have been able to(do)—o’tgan zamondagi noreal ish-harakatni (subjunctive mood) ifodalaydi:
