Smoking at Work 
It is the policy of RTI to provide a safe, healthy and productive work environment for all 
employees. To that end, RTI prohibits smoking at all work times, in the performance of RTI job 
duties, and in all RTI work areas, including vehicles, except in those areas specifically 
designated as smoking areas. Employees may not smoke on RTI premises except in designated 
smoking areas. Visitors to RTI are expected to abide by this policy. RTI hosts are responsible for 
making visitors aware of RTI’s smoking policy and pointing out designated smoking areas when 
appropriate. 
Telephone Usage 
Limited and reasonable use of RTI work telephones for personal local (non-toll) calls is 
permitted. Personal telephone calls should not be lengthy or frequent. Long distance (toll calls) 
or cell phone calls from RTI phones for personal reasons and the costs associated with same will 
be deducted from an employee’s paycheck. 
Time and Attendance 
RTI expects its employees to arrive at work on time and be ready for work. If you cannot report 
to work as scheduled, you must notify your supervisor. Excessive absences or lateness may lead 
to disciplinary action, up to and including termination. In the event an employee is absent from 
work for three days or more without prior notice or approval, such absence is viewed as job 
abandonment.

Travel 
Proposed travel for all RTI personnel must be pre-approved by the employee’s supervisor in 
accordance with RTI Business Travel, Safety, and Reimbursable Expenses Policy (RTI Policy 
and Procedure 15.0, which is available on RTI Insider and through the employee’s supervisor 
and/or Human Resources). Business travel expenses will not be reimbursed without all required 
pre-approvals.
